Located just under 500 miles from Los Angeles, Lake Tahoe is a beautiful region close by the border of California and Nevada. Kirkwood on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe provides more challenging terrain to suit the expert skier. Steep slopes mean high downhill speeds can be expected. It has one of the highest elevations in Tahoe, and the snow is very consistent.

Heavenly is located on the border between California and Nevada, so the resort straddles the border. This means that you are able to enter the casino on the Nevada side for some gambling. This family friendly resort has slopes that are great for beginners, but also provides some challenging slopes. The resort has previously hosted some World Cup level events.
